Carved signs with elegant shapes, intricately sculpted 3D graphics, deep rich colors and 23K gilded incise-carved copy are the legacy signs found throughout many New England towns. These elegant signs are a favorite among our clients and a favorite of ours as well. We custom shape, carve, paint and gild the carved text to create our clients very own legacy New England sign. Traditionally made of redwood and mahogony, we urge our clients to choose reposnibly harvested wood species or excellent synthetic materials to provide the classic look without depleting scarce natural resources. Well designed and executed carved and 3D signs have the ability to draw attention while evoking the image of a trusted and stable business.

Anne Roche Carved sign with gilded copyThis carved and dimensional sign combines the old word craftsmanship of a Vermont handcrafted carved wooden sign with a natural stone foundation. It is brought up to date with custom forged stainless steel brackets, a multidimensional add-on panel and a high-tech high density urethane (HDU) substrate to make it impervious to the sun, insects and the ravages of weather extremes. Like most of our carved and dimensional signs this was produced using a computer controlled router table (cnc router) which allows us to manufacture with extreme precision without sacrificing the appeal of a hand-carved sign. Meticulously hand finished, this sign is a beautiful as it is durable. The high density urethane (HDU) sign board will remain flat and free of splits for decades, and the incise carved letters with hand-applied 23K gilding will build brand recognition for years to come. Custom business signs like these are perfect for retailers to create an identity with a solid foundation. Our custom monument signs evoke the image of a solid company with a strong foundation.

When Ahavath Gerim congregation needed a new sign above the entrance to their building, they requested a design that would be harmonious with the architecture while presenting a graceful and attractive feel. They love their new sign and are very proud of how well it dresses up their building.

Town entrance signs are a source of pride to their communities. The town of Essex VT is proud to welcome visitors with three magnificent multi-dimensional entrance signs that inform visitors of the business friendly environment within their borders.

Projecting signs evoke an image of old-world charm. This lovely multi-dimensional sign is mounted on a historic storefront and announces the location of a real estate office. By combining the craftsmanship of a hand-wrought iron bracket with a carved sign containing a digitally printed logoform we were able to provide a charming appearance with contemporary appeal.

This fine dining restaurant hired a local Vermont artisan to craft a logo for their establishment. Once the logo was developed they turned to us so our fine artists could bring their brand to life. The resulting sign combines cut-to-shape anodized aluminum stars and letterforms mounted at different heights above a hand-carved mahogany wood sign panel. The finished custom restaurant sign is whimsical, attractive and appealing. This is another fine example of how easily brand identity can be established using a well designed and skillfully crafted sign.

When the cafeteria in UVM’s Cook’s common underwent a recent major renovation the plan was to create a fun and exciting environment for their students. A number of a la cart stations were designed and whimsical names were developed to differentiate their purpose. We designed a series of dimensional signs which incorporated text and graphics created with brushed metals, soft painted finishes and stainless steel accents. The Copper Kettle is ceiling mounted using stainless steel brackets and wires, the Final Touch is wall-mounted with stainless steel stand offs, and the Central Station is mounted to the counter using a custom designed stainless steel bracket. The coordinated appearance is well balanced and attractive, and combines to give a comfortable feel to the newly designed space.

The design and treatment for this cast bronze plaque makes this new restaurant appear to be an instant classic. The warm tone of the textured bronze combined with the brightly finished text and graphics creates a timeless appeal.
