Farmers' Market Signs for Common Roots Vermont

Carol McQuillen, Chair of the nonprofit organization, Common Roots, needed signs for the South Burlington Farmers' Market that's starting its season June 17th. The market has moved to a new location at the Middle/High School parking lot on Dorset Street, which will allow the market to host more vendors.

What was exciting tCarol McQuillen, Common Rootso us, in addition to the market, was Common Roots' whole mission of food-to-school initiatives. Carol talks about the work with true excitement--she loves having families eat healthy, locally grown food, and she loves to see students learning how and where their food comes from.

Common Roots is involved with all five of South Burlington's schools through a variety of initiatives, including Farm 2 Go, School Supported Agriculture, and a Food Education program. All of these programs  introduce fresh food, farming practices, or provide food preparation that is served in the local school cafeterias.

Growing children require quality, nutritious food--Bravo, Common Roots, for providing food and education to our local community!

The Bear Turned a New Leaf . . .

. . . And more bGreen Leafed Bearad puns like that have been used all day today. We did have fun deciding what "the bear" would be wearing--and a cloak of GREEN leaves is perfect.

This bear is part of Burlington Bears Its Art, a collaboration of community, art and business. We're a little late--bears decorated by other area businesses are already on the street (specifically Church Street and the Marketplace), but tomorrow we'll transport our leafy bear to the folks who will transport him to a public place somewhere in Burlington for viewing from May to September, 2012.

We opted to show our sign production expertise and wrap this over-sized teddy bear rather than simply paint him. We chose green as a way for us to start telling our clients about our green sign options. All of our graphics are printed on our new printer, which offers a solvent-free, full-color option that's far more earth friendly than other printers' output.

In the fall, he will be auctioned off and the partial proceeds will go to COTS (Committee on Temporary Shelter).

A Bare Bear--Is It a Sign?

White BearYup, it's a white bear devoid of fur, color, or much personality. Is it interesting in and of itself? Nope. But that's going to change in the next few days. Watch this blog to find out.

Installation of Wall Graphics: Women's World Hockey Championships

The 2012 International Ice Hockey Federation Women's World Championship games are being held in Installation of Wall Graphics Gutterson Fieldhouse, Burlington, VTBurlington, Vt April 7-14th.

In preparation for the event, we produced and installed graphics at Gutterson Fieldhouse and Cairns Arena in South Burlington. We are also sponsors of the event.

After a decade of playing in other countries, the games are back in the U.S.A.! Good luck to the American team, who along with the Canadian team, will play their games at Gutterson. A total of 8 nations are competing. Bob said the Finnish team is TALL! He also met some of the American team members and they remarked that becoming a member of a team is more difficult, and it's considered more prestigious than the Olympics.

Let us know if you'll be attending any of the games.

And now for the short, how-to video:
